CBL Samaposha powers Eastern Provincial School Sports Games

Samaposha successfully concluded the ‘Provincial School Games 2022’, for the fifth consecutive year to recognise and develop school athletic talent towards a national level. School talent from Uva, North Central and Northwest competed in athletic meets held in these provinces. Samaposha recently concluded the Eastern Provincial Meet at the Leelaratna Stadium in Kantale.

The sports festival organised in collaboration with the Provincial Education Department, was held separately in the four provinces. More than 3,500 athletes representing over 400 schools participated in the Eastern Provincial School meet. As a strong advocate for better nutrition and wellbeing practices, Samaposha aims to motivate and support young athletic talent to improve skills.

Paddiruppu Madya Maha Vidyalaya emerged champions in the overall boys and girls’ category at the Eastern Provincial School Games. Kalmune Al-Matina High School was placed runners-up in the all-boys category, with the second runner-up awarded to Akkaraipattu Muslim central College. Kantale Agrabodhi National School and Paddirippu Cheddipalayam Maha Vidyalaya bagged the first and second runner-up titles in the Girls category respectively.

Kalmune Zahira Vidyalaya won the relay champions under the boys’ category while Akkaraipattu Muslim Central College was placed first runners-up. Kalmune Al-Matina College and Paddiruppu Madya Maha Vidyalaya were placed second runners-up within the same category.

Paddirippu Kaluthavalei Maha Vidyalaya won the girls’ championship in the relay race, while Kantale Agrabodhi National School took the first runners-up title. Dehiattakandiya National School and Paddirippu Cheddipalayam Maha Vidyalaya were awarded the second runners-up in the relay event.

True sportsmanship, a competitive spirit and interest to participate in the competition were visible traits among athletes of the Eastern Province.
