Rihanna returns to the music scene

Rihanna has returned to the music scene after a hiatus. Her return is marked with the release of the song ‘Lift Me Up’ which has become the highest debuting song on the UK singles chart this week at No: 3. The track is taken from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. ‘Life Me Up’ is Rihanna’s first UK top 10 hit in five years. Her last top 10 hit was ‘Wild Thoughts’ as featured artist with Tiller as it topped the UK chart in 217. ‘Life Me Up’ was in the battle for the No: 1 spot with Taylor Smith’s ‘Anti-Hero’ and Sam Smith & Kim Petras’ ‘Unholy’. Her R&B ballad is produced by the Swedish producer Ludwig Goransson.


Maneskin to release third album

Maneskin the Italian group which won the Eurovision song contest in 2021 will release their third album ‘RUSH’ on 20th January 2023. The album will contain the lead single ‘The Loneliest’ which was released on 7th October.

 

 


Eurythmics inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Eurythmics who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 6, gave a rare performance at the event. Annie Lennox 69 and Dave Stewart 70 performed a medley of the group’s song ‘Would Lie To You’, ‘Missionary Man’ and ‘Sweet Dream (Are Made Of This)’.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Taylor Swift announces tour of the US

Taylor Swift has announced a tour of the US next year which has been named the Eras Tour. The tour will cover all the albums, the 32 year old singer has released to date. It will be her first tour in five years. The Eras Tour will commence on 18th March 2023 in Arizona and take Taylor Swift to 20 US cities over a period of four months. Several guest artists are expected to perform alongside her. International dates are expected to be announced soon. In the US Swift became the first artist to debut all top 10 songs on the Hot 100 singles chart in the 64 year history of the chart, with the song ‘Ant-Hero’ leading the way at No: 1. All tracks are from her new album ‘Midnights’.

 

 


Ed Sheeran to take a break next year


Ed Sheeran is taking a hiatus till next year. He posted a photograph on social media standing on a rock while shooting a video on a beach set, ending it “see you in 2023”. He will resume his Mathematics Tour next year. Meanwhile police thanked Sheeran’s film crew in assisting in the rescue of a missing woman at the Lowestoft beaches in England. Sheeran is making a documentary about his life and is due to release his next album ‘Subtract’ next year.
