With the COVID-19 situation worsening, universities have made arrangements to hand over their hostels to the health authorities, to be used as treatment centres for COVID-19 patients. Recently the University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC) in Ratmalana made its 200-bed hostel available for this purpose. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa, Colombo District Co-ordinating committee Co-Chairman Pradeep Udugoda and Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasaratna (Inset) were among those receiving the documentation for this process.
