KDU Logistics Day organised by the Technical Sciences and Management Society of the Department of Management and Finance, ended at the beginning of this month. It was conducted for the 7th consecutive year.

The occasion was graced by Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Vice-Chancellor Milinda Peiris, who was the chief guest, and Hambantota International Port Services CEO Ravindra Jayawickreme, who was the guest of honour.

This year’s event was the first ever virtual logistics day of KDU, and it was centered on the timely theme ‘Smart Supply Chain Management; The Dawn of a New Era.’

The motive of the theme was to emphasise supply chain transformation through digitisation and digitalisation.

The event also featured the launching ceremony of the Logistics Times magazine’s sixth edition, which is Sri Lanka’s first ever logistics magazine.

Revolutionary initiatives such as the KDU Logistics Challenge and the monthly educational webinar series were conducted in parallel with the main event.
