The following universities recognise the certificate of the Foundation Programme in Physics as an equivalent qualification for GCE (A/L) Physics when applying to respective programmes: Electronics and Automation Technologies External Degree Programme in University of Colombo, BSc in Applied Science External Degree Programme in Rajarata University, BSc Degree programme in the Open University of Sri Lanka and many other local and foreign universities where (A/L) physics is required.

Entry requirement for the Foundation Course in Physics requires six passes at GCE (O/L) examination, including passes in Science and Mathematics, or, an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Council of Institute of Physics, Sri Lanka.

This program runs for two, 20 weeks long semesters and students will be required to sit for an examination at the end of each semester.
