Shevon Daniel of St Joseph’s College shone with a career best knock of 164 in their drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter against Wesley College at Campbell Park yesterday.

Shevon who was unbeaten on 73 on day one went on to make 164 runs. He hit 18 boundaries and fives sixes in his 204 ball innings. He also shared 186 runs for the second wicket with Sheran Fonseka and 73 runs for the third wicket with Yesith Rupasinghe as Joes resuming from their overnight score of 223 for 3, scored a formidable 319 for 4 declared. Wesley in their turn were bowled out for 156 runs.

The match between St. Sebastian’s and Richmond played at Moratuwa too ended in a tame draw yesterday.
