Else Gebel shared a cell with the student Sophie Scholl in the Gestapo prison. She shared Sophie’s last five days before the latter’s execution on 22 February 1943. Sophie Scholl, 21 years old, was arrested together with her brother Hans in Munich University on 18 February 1943. The film directed by Percy Adlon.

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of Anne Frank’s Death, who was killed by the Nazis in the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen, the Goethe Institut Sri Lanka shows various movies about the holocaust. The movies ‘The Five Last Days“ and ‘Sophie Scholl – The final days“ deal with the final days of Sophie Scholl, a German resistance fighter in Nazi Germany.
