The victorious Renown Football Academy team
Renown Football Academy edged out Saunders Academy 1-0 to clinch the FFSL Under-12 Inter-Academy Football Championship 2019, concluded at the Racecourse ground in Colombo.
The Final Stage of the competition was held with the participation of 12 teams, who emerged winners of First and Second stages
Accordingly Barcelona FA, First Touch FA, Saunders FA, Manchester FA, Renown FA, Java Lane FA, Sussex FA, Seta FA, Traveler FA, Liverpool FA, Solid FA and Jaffna FA qualified for the Final Stage.
The closing stage of the tournament was played in four levels — a League level, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. Saunders FA and Renown FA qualified for the final after toppling the rest comprehensively.
The Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) stated that it is contended with the effort of discovering future footballers through this tournament
