The second inaugural Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka that kicked off on Friday October 25 at the Dimo 800 Mercedes-Benz Centre, organised by AOD and their principal sponsor Dimo Mercedes Benz, has its final show tonight.

The theme this year was Innovation Island, showcasing designers who break boundaries with their designs. They aim to keep their island influence a part of their design identity while still competing in the international market. As in previous years, there was also a focus on high-tech low-tech collaboration between the modern industry practices and the traditional crafts of Sri Lanka.

Tonight’s show will highlight design talent from the local industry.

Complementing the runways were the forums – The Sustainable Fashion Summit, South Asian Apparel Leadership Forum (SAALF), Female Futures Forum and Design Education in the 21st Century that brought together industry personnel both local and international to discuss the promising future of Sri Lanka as a fashion and design hub.
