Two commercial aircraft flying too close to each other with the smoke trails drawing parallel lines attracted the attention of Ekala residents yesterday afternoon.
Though they looked too close to each other for comfort, air traffic controllers say they were maintaining a safe distance of 2,000 feet altitude-wise, as specified in international aviation safety standards rules.

Air Traffic Control Tower at Ratmalana said that one flight was flying at 38,000 feet while the other was flying at 36,000. Both were Boeing commercial liners, they said.
Both flights were heading from Jakarta to Jeddah.
