Sri Sumangala College registered a 23-15 victory over St. Sylvester’s College in the Schools Singer Challenge Trophy rugger match played at the Pallekele Trinity College Grounds recently.

Sumangala dominated play from the start and they occupied the Sylvester’s 25 in both halves. The Kandy school failed to match the speedy and pass play from the school from Panadura who won most of the line-outs in the process.

At half time Sri Sumangala led 17-8.
The winners 22 points came from 4 tries and a penalty put over by Sadeepa Dasun. Shehan Talwatta, Manusha Kavinda, Umesh Weerakoon and Umesh Dilshan scored a try each for the winners. The losers points came through a try, a penalty goal and a penalty.
