AIS organises Inter International Schools Tennis Awards

The Asian International School organised Inter International Schools Tennis Award ceremony was held at the Asian International School last Tuesday. Former Sri Lankan Tennis star T. Dineshkanthan graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the awards.

Elizebeth Moir International School clinched the championship in the Boys ‘A’ category and the Asian International School been the runner-up and the second runner-up position was occupied by Lyceum Internationa School, Nugegoda. In the Girls category the British School of Colombo emerged winners while Gateway College, Kandy and Gateway College, Colombo occupied the first and second runner-up spots.

In the Boys ‘B’ category British School of Colombo won the title was followed by Asian International School and Lyceum International School, Nugegoda.

In this well organised tournament by the Asian International School under the guidance of Nihara Bagoos, the head of the Sports Section was participated by six international schools teams and was played maintaining the true traditions of the game and in a friendly atmosphere.
Chief Guest Dinesh Kanthan in his speech recalled his early days in tennis and gave valuable advices to the budding tennis players in how to reach the target with sheer dedication and application.
