Bandaranaike Central did well to contain the Trinity batting to 178. But the home team fought back to have the visitors at 132-7 in their reply at the Asgiriya Stadium.

Abishek Anandakumar, who struck 110 not out two days back against Nalanda took the honours with a knock of 53. The Bandaranaike spinners Jayawardena and Sayuru Roshane accounted for seven wickets all told.

Right hander Arosha Madushan held the Bandaranaike batting together with a well-compiled innings of 51. Left arm spinner Vimukthi Nethumal bagged 4-42 and off spinner Kavishka Senadheera took two. An interesting tussle is on the cards, as the visiting bowling attack does not give too much away.

Trinity 178 in 64 overs (Abishik Anandakumar 53, Avishka Senadheera 26, Chanuka Kumarasinghe 24, Trevon Percival 24, Hasintha Jayasinghe 18; Sayuru Roshane 4/12, Janidu Jayawardena 3/38)

Bandaranaike Central 132-7 in 48 overs (Arosha Madushan 51n.o, Madhawa Sathsra 18, Janidu Jayawardena 12; Vimukthi Nethumal 4/42, Kavishka Senadheera 2/40)
