A warm welcome to the Windies legend by local cricketers

Former West Indies cricket captain Richie Richardson, who is presently officiating the three test match series between Sri Lanka and India as the ICC match referee, was given a warm welcome at a special function organised by the management of the academy in honour of his visit to Windies cricket academy in Matale.

The function was held at boys home ground at Vihara road Matale and it was well attended by students their parents and cricket fans. He was highly impressed with the management of the academy under Ravi Punchihewa who is also its managing director as well head coach, and the training facilities provided for the students to pursue a career in cricket.

To remember this memorable visit a special souvenir with Richie Richardson’s signature was presented to all students of the academy.
