Commercial Bank (ComBank) Hockey team emerged unbeaten champions at the Mercantile ‘A’ Division League Hockey Tournament 2017 concluded at the Astro Turf Colombo recently.  In the final League encounter against the formidable Hatton National Bank (HNB) team, the ComBank stickers proved their superiority in no uncertain terms by downing them 3-0, to be worthy champions. ComBank Skipper Milan Ariyawansa, dynamic dribbler Anju Hewage and consistent performer Milinda Sapugasgodage scored for the winners.

The ComBank team were the pick of the lot with their great team work which resulted in a champion outfit dishing out a superlative brand of Hockey throughout the tournament.

On the run-up to the championship ComBank beat Sampath Bank 3-1 and HNB 3-1 in the 1st Round and in the 2nd Round defeated Sampath Bank 5-0 and HNB 3-0.

ComBank were the Knockout and ’7′s Champs last year.

This year’s ComBank team was led by former Vijaya College, Matale and former National cap Milan Ariyawansa and was coached by Rohan Dissanayake.
