Asia Asset Finance, one drop batsman, Shashrika Pussegolla hit a belligerent 132 not out in 70 balls, inclusive of 12 sixes and six fours against Bimputh Finance, in the ongoing 15th David Pieris Group of Companies sponsored, ‘DPGC’ Challenge Trophy, MCA ‘E’ division 30 Over League Tournament 2017, continued last week-end. Asia Asset Finance, thus amassed to 289 for 4 in 30 overs and went on to win by 184 runs.

Asanka Rohan (122 not out in 90 balls, inclusive of three sixes and 16 fours ) and Sathiska Saranga (65) put on 130 runs in 110 balls for the 2nd wicket which propelled MAS Silueta ‘B’ to a resounding 110 runs win over Hilton Colombo

Duleeka Brahakmanage, no. 4 batsman scored a fire cracker 104 in 60 balls, inclusive of eight sixes and six fours, for MAS Active ‘C’ and opening batsman , Denver Faux scored a match winning 102 in 72 balls, inclusive of eight sixes and six fours for Softlogic Finance in the same match which went to wire, Softlogic Finance sneaking through to a heart stopping one wicket win with four deliveries to spare; the clincher for Softlogic was the 96 runs stand on 65 balls for the third wicket between Faux and Rajitha Mendis (36).

Dimantha Ranush snapped up five wickets for 20 runs in 4.3 overs, as Nawaloka Group snuffed out Ceylon Tobacco Co. by eight wickets.

A run a ball unbeaten 83 with a six and 10 fours by Ramesh Fernando spearheaded Amana Bank to a fine five wickets win over AIA Insurance.

A 127 opening stand in 107 balls between Shan Nilaksha (52) and Kasun Ishara (79 in 64 balls with three sixes and 12 fours) gave Brandix Essentials a comfortable 89 runs win over Noyon Lanka.

Dialog Axiata ‘A’ helped a by a fine bowling performance by skipper, Shyamal Perera (6-0-25-5) and a quick fire opening stand of 85 runs in 49 balls between Dinesh Vindyaka (50) and Chinthaka Jayabandara (71), romped to 133 runs win over Astron Lanka. Sayuru Udukumbura came to bowl in the 20th over, bowled his quota of six overs on the trot and finalized with 6-0-32-5 for LOLC, as Ansell Lanka slid from 103 for 3 to 158 for 9 in 30 overs; LOLC won the match by seven wickets.

Nishika de Silva carried his bat out after scoring 77 not out in 65 balls with 10 boundaries and was engaged in 101 runs stand in 61 balls for the 3rd wicket with Ashil Kariyawasam (66), as HSBC ‘A’ beat Mast Far East by seven wickets.
