Welder repairing water bowser dies of electrocution
View(s):A welder who was repairing a water bowser in Peliyagoda was electrocuted, a coroner’s court was told yesterday.
The victim was Liyanaralalage Pathum Cooray, 32, a father of one child residing in Nagoda, Kalutara.
Anton Rodney a co worker said Pathum was emerging out of the tank he was attending to when suddenly there was a loud noise.
He said he saw Pathum shouting and falling into the bowser and he immediately disconnected the switch of the plant as he feared that Pathum would have got electrocuted.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday and the victim was rushed to the National Hospital where he died after a few minutes.
