Now here is your chance to show-off your creative abilities, by designing the rooster image of FGLF’s official logo, which is inherent to Galle as the town’s mascot. As history has stated one of the theories of the name “Galle” is that the word is derived from the Dutch word ‘Gallus’ which means rooster. Hence why the Dutch have used the rooster as a symbol of Galle.

The selected 10 best entries of the “Rooster art competition” will each win two festival passes and your winning Rooster will be displayed at the Fairway Galle Literary Festival 2017. Any Festival fan from young to old is welcome to participate – age is no barrier here!
