The opinion polls jointly conducted by the Business Times and the Research Consultancy Bureau under the BT-RCB tag came into focus at the launch of Advocata, an independent policy think tank, in Colombo on Thursday.  Speaking at the launch, Deputy Minister of State Enterprise Development Eran Wickramaratne said that divergent views have been expressed in two polls on the future of debt-ridden SriLankan Airlines.  It was very important for policy makers, as the view of the grass root level against privatisation was clearly reflected in one poll and the other e-mail poll was in favour for privatisation. So the policy makers (government) should be cautious in taking decisions on state-owned enterprises (SOEs), he added.
