A report on Sri Lanka’s plantation sector was recently handed over to Navin Dissanayake, Minister of Plantation Industries, by a group styled the Mascots.  The Mascots is an association of ex-planters of the Maskeliya and Upcot District and others who were in the district and were members of the famous Maskeliya Club which was established in 1889.

Seen here is Devaka Wickramasuriya (left) from the Mascots handing over the report to the Minister. The Minister also invited the group to present the report at a seminar on June 3 on the industry
