Petit Fute: Launch of French travel guide to Sri Lanka

Petit Fute Sri Lanka 2015-2016, the comprehensive travel guide to Sri Lanka in French was launched on September 9 at the Kingsbury among a gathering from the travel and tourism industry. Ambassador of France for Sri Lanka and the Maldives M. Jean-Marin Schuh, and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Rohantha Athukorale attended the launch.

Welcoming guests, Manager of the guidebook, Roxane Lamouille spoke of her fascination with Sri Lanka, and how pleased they are to be launching the latest edition of Petit Fute Sri Lanka (their seventh) for French speaking markets not just France but in Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Canada, the Reunion Island, Mauritius, Mayotte, etc.

Whilst outlining the wide reach of the Petit Fute travel guides among the French market, ambassador M. Jean-Marin Schuh in his address, touched on the many attractions of Sri Lanka and his confidence that the country would surpass its tourism targets. He hoped that tourism would not only increase from France to Sri Lanka but also vice-versa.

Petit Futé launched in 1976 has to its credit some 713 guidebooks covering 490 countries, offering practical information for the traveller. The guidebooks are available on smartphones and tablets and Petit Fute today boasts the third widest database in tourism in Europe, counting more than 1 million hits on its French website www.petitfute.com, its English website www.petitfute.uk.com and its Spanish website www.petitfute.es.
