Poppy Walk to remember servicemen
View(s):The Ex-Servicemen’s Association has organized a Poppy Walk in collaboration with the Armed Forces poppy ceremony on September 19 at 8.30 a.m. from the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association Headquarters, Bristol Street, Colombo 1.
The Walk is being held to remember the servicemen who sacrificed their lives for the country. It will begin from the headquarters at Bristol Street and head through Chatham Street, Olcott Mawatha, Gunasinghepura, Saunders Place, Bodhiraja Mawatha, Gas Street Junction, Main Street and through Sir Baron Jayatilleke Mawatha back to the headquarters. Former commanders and senior officers of the three armed services, members of the respective associations and bands will participate.
