It’s been a triumphant return for Justin Bieber as his new song ‘What Do You Mean?’ debuted at the top of the UK singles chart. It came at a time when most critics were writing off the 21 year Canadian singer as he was hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

‘What Do You Mean?’ has come as a bit of a respite for Bieber after it was released on August 28th.

He performed it at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 30th and within a few days the song had set a new streaming record of 3.2 million in the opening week. In doing so, ‘What Do You Mean?’ eclipsed One Direction’s record of 2.03 million for ‘Drag Me Down’.

Meanwhile in taking the UK No: 1 spot Bieber’s hit has pushed a combined 84,000 copies.

The song is from house/ EDM genre and has a slight resemblance to OMI’s ‘Cheerleader’ with a tik tok interlope. ‘What Do You Mean?’ is co- written by Bieber with Jason Boyd and Mason Levy with trio being its producers too.

It is the leadoff single from the singer’s next album. The song is also Justin’s first UK No: 1 song. Previously he has notched up six top 10 songs. He caught the attention of music fans again this year when he was the featured vocalist on Jack U’s ‘Where Are U Now’ which peaked at No:3.

The second new entry to debut on the UK top 10 is Demi Lovato’s ‘Cool For The Summer’. Its chart entry can be credited to the live performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. The pop song is the lead track from her upcoming album ‘Confident’.

The song which is produced by Ali Payami and Max Martin is Demi’s third UK solo top 10 hit. She had another two songs on the top 10 as a featured artist.

Black Sabbath one of hard rock’s iconic bands will launch their farewell the End tour on January in Nebraska in the US. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler will be part of the tour group.

However their drummer Bill Wood will not be with them owing to a dispute. The End tour will take Black Sabbath to North and South America, Australia and New Zealand.

Avicii is to release his second album ‘Stories’ on October 2nd. The Swedish DJ and producer will follow up his 2013 album ‘True’ with tracks that will include the recent global hit ‘Waiting For Love’. Just ahead of the album release Avicii cancelled his current tour and will move them over to 2016.

His shows in Las Vegas and Japan that were due to be held soon are also cancelled. Last year too Avicii cancelled shows owing to health issues. It is not clear if the tour cancellation is health related or connected to his forthcoming album.

The all girl group Little Mix will release their next album ‘Get Weird’ on November 6th. The 16 track album will also feature a duet with Jessie J and the group’s recent No:1 song ‘Black Magic’.
