Bringing back the nostalgia of Woodstock 1969

Celebrating the enduring legacy of the world’s most famous music festival, Woodstock held in Bethel, New York in 1969, with Joe Cocker, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin, Santana, Ravi Shankar and many more, Woodstock Colombo will feature local music’s leading musicians.

The show is presented by Etisalat Lanka in partnership with JC Entertainments on Saturday, September 26 at the CR&FC Grounds from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Over 30 of Sri Lanka’s most talented musicians such as Rattlesnake, Flame, Mintaka, Jerome Speldewinde Band featuring Shafi, Kamal Perera, Glen Terry, Jerome Speldewinde, Pradeep Ratnayaka, Rajitha (MISTY), Thilak Dias, CJ (Chris Dhason), Terry Bertus, Upula Madusanka, Lelum Ratnayake, Vibes (Hikka Drummers), Primal Liyanage, Naushad, Anne J and more will take the stage.

The event aims to conserve the true value and nostalgia of 1969, uniting people in a message of peace, love, openness and cultural expression catering to the bygone era of the ‘Woodstock Generation’.

Total proceeds from the event will go to the Western Musicians Association Sri Lanka which contributes towards the development of Sri Lanka’s most promising musicians as well as the Sunera Foundation.

Tickets are on sale at the Etisalat Flagship Store in Colombo 3 and WTC, CR&FC, Harpo’s and JC Entertainments.
