Sri Lanka Police excels at World Police Day in Virginia, USA
View(s):The Sri Lanka Police team did extremely well at the World Police Sports Festival held in Virginia, USA bringing credit to the Sri Lanka Police as well as Sri Lanka by winning a gold, a silver and bronze medals.
ASP Lakshman Abeykone, a member of the Sri Lanka Police rugby team (he is over 35 years of age) bagged a bronze medal in the shot-putt event.
ASP W.A.M. Wickremanayake went on to a badminton bronze and ASP K.D.B. Senarath won a silver in Karate (under 84 kg) while ASP D.P. Manasinghe won a Karate gold (under 70 kg) and in the Open Karate events Chamira went on to win a bronze medal.
