Jayasiri’s madness to go on the boards
View(s):Well-known actor Sarath Kothalawala’s latest comedy play “Jayasirita Pissu” (Jayasiri is Mad) started its rehearsal recently.
Written and directed by Sarath Kothalawala who was famed for his maiden direction “Nari Burathi” has hired a cast comprising some of the well-known theatre, television and cinema artistes including Kumara Thirimadura, Pubudu Chathuranga, Dharmapriya Dias, Saman Hemarathne (Leelasena), Niroshan Wijesinghe, Dimuthu Chinthaka and Somasiri Kolambage in the main cast.
Wimalajith Dombagahawatte handles music while Pushpa Samanthi Kothalawala designs costume Saman Hemarathne’s handles make-up. Sound management and stage lighting are designed by Mihidu Madhusanka and Nalaka Kumara respectively while the play is organised by Jude Srimal.
The play is to go on the boards at the theatres around the country from August 9.
