Historical action epic film ‘Dragon Blade’, a story of an exiled Chinese general (Jackie Chan) who offers shelter to a renegade Roman (John Cusack) during the Han dynasty between 206-220 AD is now being screened at Majestic Ultra, Bambalapitiya and Empire Deluxe, Independence Square.

Directed by Daniel Lee Screenplay, the film stars Jackie Chan, Huo An, John Cusack, Lucius and Adrien Brody in the main cast and the film has been recorded as one of the most expensive films ever produced in China.

The story centers on the commander of the Protection Squad of the Western Regions (Jackie Chan), who joins forces with Roman general Lucius (John Cusack) to protect China’s sovereignty as power-crazed Tiberius (Adrien Brody) seeks to defeat Lucius once and for all.

Huo An (Chan), a hun, serves as a commander of the Protection Squad of the Western Regions of the Han Dynasty. They are tasked by the emperor to maintain stability between the warring 36 nations in the Silk Road region.

Huo An and his subordinates are framed for smuggling gold and are sent to the Wild Geese Gate, a frontier town of the Han Dynasty and undergo forced labor. At the frontier town the many nations and people that represented labor force were distrustful and did not assist each other in the completion of the restoration of the Wild Geese Gate.

Meanwhile, in the west a Roman general named Lucius (Cusack) flees with his legion to the east. He smuggles Publius (Waite), heir of the Roman consul for the Parthian Empire to save him from death and a ploy by his older brother, Tiberius (Brody), who schemes to takeover the position as heir to the Consul seat for himself. Lucius arrives at outskirt of the Wild Geese Gate, with plans to assault the frontier town with his legion. Their aim was to find a place for the legions to rest. In anticipation of the confrontation, Hou An takes the armor plate and sword of the previous commanding officer of the Wild Geese Gate and goes out to meet Lucius. Lucuis and Hou battle in an evenly matched sword play. Before the match ends with a clear winner, a sandstorm approaches threatening the Romans and all others who are outside of the city walls. Huo realizing this, plus seeing Publius in a very dire state, reluctantly offers to allow the Romans refuge.
