Shakespeare Centre celebrates Silver jubilee

Celebrating the 25th anniversary, the Shakespeare Centre Sri Lanka has made arrangements to promote drama, theatre and cinema by organising a training programme.  Applications are called for the 10th such programme held for the year 2015-2016 and this year special attention will be given to cinematography.

The trainees who successfully complete the programme will be given opportunities to participate in theatrical productions of the Shakespeare Centre like “Othello”, “Macbeth”, “Hamlet” and the film production “Hamlet”.

Practical and theoretical knowledge will be provided by veteran artistes and the training programme is conducted by a local and foreign educated artiste on theatre and cinema.

Over the past 25 years the Shakespeare Centre Sri Lanka has produced a large number of artistes and contributed immensely to the Sri Lankan art and cinema.
