Comedy in a living room
View(s):Actor Ananda Athukorale’s hilarious theatrical production ‘Kotakalisankaraya’ will go on the boards at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm on March 7 at New Town hall, Colombo. Rodney Warnakula, Ananda Athukorala, Anusha Dissanayake, Sanjula Divaratne and Eric Abeywardena star in the play.
The play is set in the living room of Sisilin Nona Weerasena, yesteryear film star now retired from the scene and her elderly husband. ‘Kotakalisankaraya’ centring around the entertaining incidents that take place in their household. Martin (played by Rodney Warnakula), is the servant and is committed to keep the lady of the house happy as she cannot cope with extreme emotions like sorrow. The main mission of her husband is to help Martin to keep Sisilin Nona calm. The audience is taken along many interesting incidents, dialogues and dramatic twists for nearly two hours.
Scripted and directed by Ananda Athukorala, music is directed by Weeraratne Perera and stage management is by Neluka Enderamulla. Background setting by Ranjit Devanarayana, make up by Nishani Nelka, sound management Chanuka Rukshan and lighting is by Wasantha Kumara.
