OZO brand hotels to spread wings to Kandy and Galle
View(s):Sino Lanka Hotel Holdings in partnership with Thailand-based Onyx Hospitality Group is set to attract business travellers and high spending tourists by building two more OZO hotels in Kandy and Galle with a total investment of Rs. 4.5 billion, Company Charman Bob Kundanmal revealed.
“The 160-room OZO Colombo hotel located on Marine Drive in Colombo 4 was opened two months ago and the occupancy rate is gradually picking up,” Mr.
Kundanmal told the Business Times on the sidelines of the opening of its roof top wing last week.
The company has invested Rs. 2.5 billion on the Colombo project, he disclosed. All these hotel projects were BOI approved, he said.
He said that construction work of OZO Kandy Hotel located near the Swiss Hotel is nearing completion and the company has invested Rs. 2.1 billion on that project.
OZO Kandy will have 128 rooms, a swimming pool, gym and two restaurants.
“The construction work of OZO Galle will begin this year,” he said.
“We wanted to leverage on the needs of business and leisure sector and we have found the perfect locations for these hotels in Colombo, Kandy and Galle,” he added.
Sino Lanka Hotel Holdings is a joint venture by Mr. Kundanmal, former managing director of the family-owned Confifi Group of hotels, Stefan Furkhan and its Singaporean investors, Rajan Bharvani and Manu Bhojwani.
