Lahiru Wickremasinghe of De Mazenod College Kandana has ousted Randev Pathirana of Royal College Colombo for the top post at the 35th Bata-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year reaches its eleventh week.

It looks as if the battle is now hotting up. Akila Lakshan of Royal College Panadura is in third place with Trinity’s Ravin Seyar in fourth place. A.K. Tyronne of Richmond College Galle and Nimesh Gunasinghe of St. Anthony’s College Katugastota are engaged in a neck-to-neck tussle for the fifth place, with Kusal Mendis of Prince of Wales Moratuwa not far behind.

In the Emerging Schools section M.D. Dhanushka Lahiru of Vidyaloka Vidyalaya Galle is on top followed by Lakiru Vimukthi of Sri Summangala Panadura in second place followed by E.P. Kalana Hasanga of Rahula occupying the third place.

The votes have been coming in steadily and the coming weeks will be interesting to follow.

Romesh Madushan of Leighton Park has a comfortable lead with Rasanjana Mallikarachchi of Lyceum International Nugegoda in second place. Farshath Fazal of Gateway College Colombo is currently in third place with Nimasha Perera of Lyceum International in fourth spot.
