‘Sannaliyane’: Fund raiser

‘Sannaliyane’, the fund raising musical extravaganza of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) will kick off at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on March 30 for the express purpose of harnessing financial support for the construction of the ‘Abimansala’ wellness resorts for lifetime care of dependant war heroes and their families. The extravaganza will serve as a token of tribute to music maestro, Pandit W.D. Amaradeva.

The two-hour long concert will feature W.D. Amaradeva and an ensemble of veteran vocalists including Victor Ratnayake, Sanath Nandasiri, Sunil Edirisinghe, Nanda Malani, Kolithabhanu Dissanayake, Edward Jayakody, Jagath Wickremasinghe, Lalskhman Wijesekara, Amarasiri Peiris and many others. The event has been organized under the direction of Army Commander Daya Ratnayake and ASVU President Damayanthi Ratnayake on behalf of the ‘Brave Hearts’ fund raiser project of the ASVU.

The event is scripted by Bandara Eheliyagoda, musically composed by Rohana Weerasinghe while the choreography will be handled by Channa Wijewardena.
An ensemble of 100 Army musicians and dancers will back the veterans at the show for which tickets are available at Cargills Food City outlets.
