First Lankan elected to ‘Young Diplomats in London’ Ex-Co

Ms. Muthu Padmakumara has been elected into the 2014 Executive Committee of the Young Diplomats in London (YDL). The YDL is a not-for-profit organisation with over 600 members comprising of young diplomats from across the globe based in London. YDL was established in 2003 to foster relations between young diplomats posted to the UK. Recognized by the London diplomatic community, the YDL executive members were received by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in London HE Khaled-Al-Duwaisan GCVO – Ambassador for the State of Kuwait.

YDL brings professional and social networking opportunities for young diplomats building long-term relations through ‘soft-diplomacy’. Ms. Muthu Padmakumara (BA Hons. York University) is the only South Asian and the first Sri Lankan to be elected into the executive body of the YDL. She is an author and a communications consultant, currently serving at Sri Lanka’s High Commission in London.
