The Ministry of Higher Education has decided to donate a 400-metre synthetic track to the Oluvile Eastern University, for the benefit of sportsmen and women of Vavuniya and Trincomalee

Another two more synthetic tracks will be donated to the Vavuniya and Trincomalee Universities this year, and the total cost of the project will be over Rs. 300 million.

The Ministry of Higher Education has already requested the funds for this venture from the Treasury.
