World’s largest luxury passenger liner calls over at Colombo Port

The world’s largest luxury passenger liner ‘Mv Queen Mary’ with more than 2,300 tourists on board called over at the Colombo harbour on Monday (February 4 -Independence Day) and was given a traditional welcome by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLPA). The passengers comprised US, British, Australian, New Zealand, South African and Canadian nationals. The one-day visit included a day excursion organised by Gemini Tours and Travels to Kandy, Pinnawala and Colombo city.

According to a SLPA statement, more than 27 such luxury carriers are scheduled to call over in Colombo this year.
