A rainy day

The sky was dark and the air felt cold. Myself and my mother took all the clothes indoors. Little raindrops started to fall. The little raindrops turned into a heavy rain.  The sun shone behind the clouds. The rain stopped.

The sun shone brightly. You could see the beauty of nature, so you shut your television and open your window and see the beauty of nature.

I am a pencil

I am a pencil. My name is Maped. I was made in France. I am orange and black in colour. I help the children to write nice handwriting.

A good child carefully sharpened me, but a naughty child saw me on the table and threw me onto the floor. The cleaner picked me up and put me in the bin. A poor child took me out and wrote with me.
She takes good care of me.

I love that child.

A trip to the Air Force camp

I went on a school trip to the Air Force Camp. It was on February 23. We went there at 7.30 a.m. We went by school bus. We were singing inside the bus. It was at Ratmalana. When we went there we saw a real big helicopter and then we went inside a large room.

There were some army uniforms, guns, rockets and bombs. I think it was a museum. We went to see a film also. It was about how to fly in a plane but we did not fly really. When we kept our legs down it felt like we were going up in the sky.

We went to see the photo gallery. We saw some soldiers who had died. I felt so sad because they are the heroes of our country. Then we thought of playing in the playground but we did not go there.

After interval we came back to school. I will never forget this field trip in my life.

The country I like to visit

My favourite country I would like to visit is Switzerland. Switzerland became my favourite country due to many reasons.

Switzerland is situated in the middle of Europe. It is a land full of natural beauty, Its mountain tops, its streamlets, its beautiful lakes and its grassy lands grab the tourists’ attraction. A visit to Switzerland will be a good experience.

Although it’s small in size and population, though their winter is very cold and their summer is not too hot, they are able to raise a large number of cattle and sheep and earn a good income. Their soil is not naturally fertile, but the people in Switzerland always try to cultivate and adjust their economic system. Their entertainment facilities welcome tourists all over the world too.

They speak many languages and they have no common language. My favourite country Switzerland does not belong to any political groups.

If I would be able to visit Switzerland, I would enjoy all these royal pleasures. Every time I see that an invisible power takes my mind to Switzerland. I hope that I would go to Switzerland.

My best holiday

My best holiday is the December holiday and on December 25 there is Christmas. I like the December holiday very much because it is a long holiday and after December a new year begins.

Last December we went to Singapore. Our plane to Singapore was at 11.55 p.m. It was morning when we arrived at Singapore Airport. We stayed three days in Singapore. There was a train called sky train in Singapore.

We stayed in a guest house.

My pen friends in Japan

One day my father took me to a camp organized by some Japanese people. I went there with my brothers. Then suddenly a girl talked to me. She was very pretty. Ultimately our friendship was a big ship.

When she left Sri Lanka, I talked with her on Skype and exchanged details by email. Her name is Mikiko Hayami. She is very kind to me. I like her very much. We exchanged letters too.

One day my brother went to Japan for a tournament. She came to watch. I gave my brother lots of gifts and letters to give her. She also replied me. One day we will be the most coolest penpals in this whole world.

Trees

Trees are very beautiful. Some trees are very colourful. Some trees are tall and some are short. Trees give us food.

I love trees. Trees give us shadow.
