Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

One thousand boats took to the River Thames on Sunday January 3, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, with people from all around the world taking part.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh arrived to huge cheers from the crowd who were excited to get a glimpse of her. She met the Chelsea Pensioners, who are retired members of the armed forces.
After arriving at Buckingham Palace, the Royal Family appeared on the balcony and watched an RAF fly-past.
When the Royal barge passed under the famous Tower Bridge it turned round so the Royal Family could watch the rest of the flotilla sail past.
