Chokolaate mother daughter fashion designer 2012 title up for grabs

It’s an original concept for not often do we see mums and daughters together on the ramp. But yes, it’s happening as Chokolaate magazine presents the Chokolaate Mother Daughter Fashion Designer 2012 Contest.

The designers have been hard at work and the top 14 finalists who would battle it out on May 12 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre are Ama Liyanage, Anushka Pilimatalawwe, Shaheen Sourjah, Dimitri Fernando, Udaya Madusanka, Jayanika Chamani, Niluka Bogahawatte, Manoshi Hansapani, Dilshani Satharasingha, Vindya Keerthirathne, Gangu Roshana, Parvin Mohamed Iqbal, Poornima Dulanjalee and Ravihari Gamage.

The challenge which began three years ago has grown into a title that every young aspiring fashion designer wants to have in their cupboard of trophies. The competition is designed to give the designer the opportunity of displaying a wider array of their skills.

Chokolaate Managing Editor Michelle Gunesekera says she is delighted with the progress the show has made and the acceptance it has as an event for all young designers.
