Sisters’ dispute led to double suicide, say Kopay Police

Two Jaffna women who were found dead yesterday morning are believed to have committed suicide.
According to the Kopay police, the women were sisters, both spinsters in their early forties, who shared a home. It is suspected that an argument between the sisters led to S. Geetanjalai, 40, hanging herself from a ceiling fan and S. Swarnalatha (43) jumping into a nearby well on discovering her sister’s body.
The two women were alone in the house at the time of the incidents. Their bodies were found the following day by neighbours.

The Kopay Police are investigating.
