Education options after O/Levels

Dear O/Level Student and Parent

What is your next step after O/Levels? Are you thinking of another 2 to 3 years of A/Level school education? Or are you still looking at options after O/Levels. In a highly competitive world A/Level alone will not guarantee success.

A/Levels – Success not guaranteed
O/Level results were released few days ago. The big question is what to do after O/Levels? The traditional A/Level option is loosing popularity among parents and students. Annually over 250,000 students sit for Sri Lankan A/Levels in four major subject areas of Mathematics, Science, Business and Arts. However, less than 10% of them will be selected to pursue higher education in the state university system.

Ordinary Levels – Extraordinary Opportunities
Ordinary Level (O/Level) examinations signify an important step of student’s life. With the end of secondary education students can start their tertiary education (University education). The A/Level examination is an admission seeking examination for Sri Lankan university system. Students who are not seeking local university admission are increasingly looking at other options.
