Kulisa to represent Lanka at world chess tourney

Kulisa Saranath Nanayakkara of St. Nicholas International College Negombo has been selected to represent the Sri Lankan School Chess squad (Under 9) at the 8th. World School Individual Chess Championships 2012 to be held in Iasi Romania from April27 to May 7, 2012.

He won six oput of seven games beating better known players in the schools chess arena at the final selection tournament held at the Ananda College in Colombo organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Chess Association (SLSCA).

Kulisa Saranath is one of the youngest players who have achieved International Chess ratings (FIDE Ratings) within a span of in his chess career.

Kulisa is the only International School chess player who has qualified to represent Sri Lanka at the World Schools Championships in Romanoa.
