Learning Chemistry with Ease

The aim of education is to contribute, not only to producing scholars but also for the development of good citizens and caring individuals. ACME Academy of Science is an academic institution with a dedication that fulfills this perception. Parents and students alike are fully conscious of this notion. It has been time tested and proven beyond doubt, since its inception.

No one can place ACME and Mr. Jeewaka Premaraja (B. Sc First Class Honours, M.Sc. Applied Chemistry, and PhD Chemistry Education Psychology (Reading), its Master of Chemistry, apart. These are synonyms, though many other, too, are teaching in this seat of academic excellence. Chemistry is commonly perceived as more difficult than many other subjects, though, its degree of value in comparison with other subjects is higher.

Mr. Jeewaka faced the G.C.E A/L Examination from the bio stream and entered the University of Kelaniya to commence his higher studies. He successfully completed his degree obtaining a first class and also displayed his capabilities and talents by studying multiple subjects and engaging in various activities in the university. After completing his university education he was given the opportunity to join the university staff which gave him a valuable experience to begin his teaching career. This journey with gradual improvement has today made him the owner of a prestigious institution, ACME.

Teaching, when taken in its general notion is one of the most complicated professions. It demands broad knowledge of subject matter, a caring attitude, a love of teaching and a desire to make a difference in the lives students. Some teachers inspire students to work several times harder than they normally would. Teachers can inspire their students when they sincerely believe in student’s capability to accomplish great thing, when they are concerned about students.

Mr. Jeewaka Premaraja, the Chemistry teacher at ACME, is by all definitions stated here, is a blend of all these qualities. In the Sri Lankan context, G.C.E.(Advanced Level) is a “do or die” barrier for the student. Mr. Jeewaka’s teaching methodologies give the necessary stamina to the students to jump over this barrier with ease. His student activities, not merely transmit knowledge, but also contribute to develop skills that are necessary for effective functioning of one’s personal life. He always introduces an activity based student centered approach in his teaching which students really enjoy. ACME institution always concentrates on good quality teaching in every subject and it is pertinent to mention here that the role and function of the ACME institution is to give more knowledge and strengthen students to face the A/L examination successfully .

When considering the above mentioned reason Mr. Jeewaka C. Premaraja is the best person to whom a chemistry student should run in to, to prepare him/herself to face the hurdle of examination and ACME Academy of science would cater all educational needs of a science student to achieve his/her dream.
As for the Jeewaka master on whom volumes can be written, in conclusion this valuable quotation will say all, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”
