DSL launches first eco-friendly tyre

Mineka Wickramasingha, Chairman of the CBL Group was recently conferred the "Hall of Fame" award by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Sri Lanka at its annual entrepreneurship awards.

Douglas and Sons (Pvt) Ltd (DSL) recently launched its first eco-friendly tyre into the local market.
This tyre, the GT Radial Champiro ECO, is manufactured with reduced carbon emissions by the Indonesian manufacturer PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk, and has been recognized by MURI (the Indonesian Record Body) as the first eco-friendly tyre produced by an Indonesia manufacturer, the local company said.

Using Nanotek Silica Technology, the GT Radial Champiro ECO produces very low rolling resistance. This results in lower heat generation, increased tyre life and savings on fuel. The combination of all these factors makes the GT Radial Champiro ECO a truly environmentally friendly product.

“We are therefore delighted that as a responsible business entity, DSL has been able to create value to our stakeholders through this new introduction of GT Radial Champiro ECO, and thereby reaffirm our commitment towards innovative, progressive, and responsible business practices that aid sustainable living”, said DSL Chairman, Saroj Perera at a press briefing of the launch.
