‘Ethumai Methumai’ brings threats on the producer

A recent news story that the producer of the latest comedy movie ‘Ethumai Methumai’ was threatened for allegedly making a movie on a recent clash in Mulleriyawa created a stir.

According to film producer Upul Jayasinghe he had been threatened with death and complaints were made to Mirihana police station.

The producer had to convince the two unidentified persons that the film was made in last August, months before the alleged incident where president’s advisor was killed while a parliamentarian was critically injured.

Even though the producer was threatened, the film has been running unthreatened at the MP circuit cinemas around the country including New Olympia, Maradana and Ritz Borella. Directed by Nishantha Weerasinghe, the film has a creamy cast comprising Rodney Warnakula, Priyantha Seneviratne, Ananda Wickremage, Duleeka Marapana, Anton Jude, Anarkalee Akarsha, Mahinda Pathirage, Ronnie Leitch and many more.

Camera by Gamini Chaminda, the film is edited by Samantha Wickremasinghe, make up by Hasanka Sameera Gunawardena, art direction Sumith Wanniarachch, and music direction is by George Senanayake.

“Ethumai Methumai’ is one of the film projects started by producer Upul Jayasinghe who aims to complete 10 films by the end of year 2012.
