National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), held its open day on 10 September 2011 for the first time at NIBM Colombo Campus from 0900 a.m. to 19.30 p.m.
Event was a huge success where large number of parents and school leavers gathered at different stalls to collect information on their higher education paths. It was an unlimited experience especially for parents to collect firsthand information about how exciting and rewarding the experience a student can obtain at NIBM.
Learning Environment @NIBM
It was a perfect opportunity for parents and students to discover the right study programme that matches their requirements. NIBM Open Day paved the opportunity for parents and students to meet and discuss with Academics from Business and IT Faculties of NIBM, and toured the learning facilities, and attended to free seminars on variety of courses. Almost all questions of parents on higher education of their children were well answered. This was evident by the number of registrations that took place on the open day itself.
Involvement of NIBM students
Current students of NIBM and its past graduates organized the open day @ NIBM. Students were able to gather lots of experience in organizing an event of this nature and their degree of involvement showed their enthusiasm and capabilities in management. It was a great opportunity for new entrants to meet their senior students and graduates and to obtain real life experiences on products and services offered by NIBM.
Entertainment
Current students of NIBM demonstrated to visitors that education is not just cramming, but experiencing and developing different types of competencies in life. They organized a talent show to entertain all visitors at the end of the day.
Total Solution for higher education
Purpose of the open day @ NIBM was to create a total solution for higher education by providing a complete education path from certificate levels to postgraduate levels and to bring in all other service providers like bankers who provide financial support for students under one roof. Most of the visitors praised the initiative taken by NIBM for the opportunity provided for prospective participants and their parents.
Open Day @ NIBM was an eye opener for the education industry and it has set a model where most of the higher educational institutes will follow the suit. Again NIBM made a history in its progressive path by creating a total solution for higher education under one roof. |
