Rs 5,000 reward for 25 years service!

University teachers at Colombo University were pleasantly surprised last week to be rewarded for 25 years service to the institution.

They were even more surprised when opening the ‘reward’ envelope to find Rs 5,000 inside.
“What a joy! Getting Rs 5,000 for 25 years of service which works out to Rs 200 per year of service,” one lecturer said adding, “No wonder, university dons are demanding a wage hike!”
