‘Mo Soul’ is the collection that jewellery designer Mihiri Devendra created in memory of a friend. “It was in memory of my friend, Mohan Ariyaratne who passed away due to cancer - he believed in my talent,” the designer says. Launched in early April at the Kess Salon down Rosmead Place, Colombo 7, Mo Soul is drawn from nature. Frogs, birds and dragonflies are her trademark while the themes are a mix of both man and animals. Mihiri believes that man must be represented with and as a part of nature.
From ‘Madol Doowa’ to ‘The Fortress’

Many years ago Koggala became famous for Martin Wickremasinghe’s all time favourite ‘Madol Doowa’. As kids we did visit ‘Madol Doowa’ on a joyful boat trip and many years later to the Martin Wickremasinghe Museum at his home. But with the change of era, Koggala became world famous for different things. ‘The Fortress’ is the top attraction of the area and later all eyes turned to Koggala for the ‘World’s Most Expensive Dessert’ offered by this fantastic resort. Who on earth can afford a dessert for US$ 14, 500/- (Approx. Rs. 14,50000/-)?But there are buyers and the Fortress is the place for them.
