Funday Times - A Poem for the week

Forest

By Ruwimal Pathiraja, Royal College

A forest is a cluster of animals and plants,
A wonderful haven where birds sing while monkeys chant,
Amidst dark black precipices do rivers wind,
Carrying forth melodious music which soothes the mind.

Deer gallop over savannahs green and wide,
While along the grass snakes glide,
Lions roar at foes displaying their might,
The sun seems to chuckle at this sight.

At night the forest is a mystic sight,
Nocturnal birds begin their flight,
Billions of stars twinkle in the sky,
Forests are splendid, I think you know why!
