Dutch Food & at MLH Music Festival

A Dutch Food and Music Festival will come alive at the Mount lavinia Hotel from 26 to 30 April
This festival isn’t just about celebrating food, although that in itself would be more than reason to go. MLH will be the ultimate dream of gastronomy and music entertainment. A celebration of live music, Dutch Food particularly Oysters which are synonymous to Netherlands and drink and entertainment, will get you in the mood for springtime.

A slow food night by Chef Fleur will be scheduled for 30th April with Chef Fleur specially flown from Netherlands by SriLankan Airlines, will be executing his expertise. And his menu will consist of Dutch herring served with a caviar of red beetroot on a marsmallow apple, Grilled North Sea Sole fillet with accompaniments, Roasted Geudal lamb bedded on accompaniments synonymous to Holland, Crispy ilsselmeer eel accopanied by mussels in a soup amuse, are just a few to mention.

A huge selection of cheeses including Dutch Goat Cheese, Limburg Grotto cave cheese ”Heuvelland”, Beemster and known products like Edam and Gouda are just a few to mention that Cheese entrepreneur Tom Miesen will give insights into the multifaceted cultural history of this very special milk product, explaining the means of production and regional characteristics.

The Netherlands are known for their fish and shell-fish. The Oysterman Maaike Dam will be walking around and blending into the crowd. Oysters will be opened on the spot, at the same time sharing knowledge about this salty delicacy in an animated way, telling interesting things and anecdotes about oysters.

With their enthusiastic stage presence the band quickly won a place in the Dutch blues scene and festival hall La Grange will be bringing the audience all in a flame. Their music is performed with great feeling and has already touched many hearts. The real blues lovers will indulge in clouds and reminiscences when they cover works from the city blues of Walter Trout, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Gary Moore, Tony Joe White, Rory Gallagher, etc. La Grange consists of Thijs Reijnders (Guitar/Singer), Leij van den Beuken ( Guitar/Singer), Hub Heijnen ( Bass player /Singer), René Hendrickx ( Drums) and Jos Saes ( Lead Singer /Mouth harpist) and Mano van den Beuken ( Technician / Mixer).

They are also known for their meetings with many leading artists of the genre like taking care of backstage music for Eric Clapton and Peter Koelewijn.
