CSD Institute Australia, an Australian organisation that specialises in global skills development, is organising two workshops in Colombo this month to help Sri Lankans in the soft-skills sector.
“We are pioneers in global soft-skills certification. There is no other body that grants soft-skills designations,” said Kajanga Kulatunga, also a director of the institute who will be conducting this pilot series in Colombo.
The 2-day course in Certified Business Communicator (CBC) TM will be held on
February 19-20 and February 26-27 in Colombo.
Mr Kulatunga, a Sri Lankan is an Investment Specialist based in Sydney, Australia, and writes a regular column in the Business Times on investment issues.
He said the standard course fees in Australia for this kind of workshop is $2000. “Since we have decided to launch this programme we are only charging expenses and administrative costs which would amount to $200,” he added.
The programme includes topics like ‘the role of planning in an emotional presentation’, ‘understanding the flow and reading an audience’,’creating presentations to win’ ‘effective meeting planning’, ‘power of the spoken word’, ‘art of influencing’ among other matters.
